A perfect 10 p.m.

June 28, 2014

At just about 10 p.m. last night I stood quietly in a back alley and listened. And I could actually hear the Fairview neighbourhood talking amongst itself.

It was a perfect summer’s evening. Comfortably warm with the night sky still showing patches of dark electric blue. A glorious time.

And, it seemed, all the old apartment building in Fairview had their windows flung open so people could drink in the night air and the balconies were being lived on and from every building came the sound of happy conversations.

After the grim, close-mouthed, months of winter it seemed as though the neighbourhood couldn’t stop talking about how much it loved the summer. Click the image to enlarge it.
