Former Vancouver Apple employee’s priceless name

August 7, 2014

A former employee of the Vancouver Apple Store at Pacific Centre is figuring he can leverage the bitter rivalry between Apple Computers and Samsung to auction off just one of his old Apple business cards and make a lot of money for charity.

That’s because the name on the business card — his name — is “Sam Sung”.

The current bid for the card on eBay stands at US$80,200.00 so it looks like he’s right.

Fun and helping sick kids is the name of the game

Sam Sung’s old business card identifies him as a “Specialist” at the Pacific Centre Apple Store in downtown Vancouver, B.C.

On the auction page Sam Sung says that the whole thing is being done for fun and for charity. All net proceeds to benefit Children’s Wish, British Columbia & Yukon which grants wishes to sick children. He writes:

“I had a great time working for Apple and would recommend it to anyone. I hope my old business card will go to another fellow Apple enthusiast with a sense of humour and the desire to help raise some money for a good cause.”

The auction is scheduled to run until August 15 and the successful bidder will get Sam Sung’s business card card mounted and framed on his old uniform, which he’s signed, along with his EasyPay tag.

Honestly, no one’s had this much fun with the rivalry/war being waged between the two smartphone leaders since a Samsung executive (who’s name we forget) was slightly misquoted after he was overheard saying “I have a pal I phone”.
