You go squirrel!

Squirrels are what they eat.

That’s right. I’m saying they’re nuts but I mean it in the nicest possible way.

Their evolutionary firmware is so out of tune with reality I think they must live in a perpetual state of cognitive dissonance.

Nature has equipped squrrels to survive best in a world that doesn’t exist anymore. Sooner or later that fact must dawn on their little squirrel brains — that nothing quite goes the way they expect and it must grate on them.

There’s a reason they call it acting squirrely

Sensing danger, the squirrel stops still to hide among the background foliage — and stucco.

Stopping dead still in the middle of a road certainly doesn’t work like it’s supposed to and relatively few things in their environment are squirrel-coloured .

So I’m thinking a sane squirrel may be a contradiction in terms.

But nuts or not, squirrels continue to make do. On the one hand this is very admirable but on the other hand it would mean they were even crazier if they didn’t. Click the images to enlarge.
