Well, that about covers this Broadway tunnel soil test
Looks like I was wrong — again. Before 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, a Foundex drilling crew had completely wrapped up the subway tunnel-related soil testing they began in the 1400 block of West Broadway Avenue two days earlier on Friday.
On Saturday, I wrote how I thought that the crew might be on the scene through the Thanksgiving Monday but they have completely cleared out — equipment and all.
The only evidence to mark that the drilling ever happened is a steel plug bearing the equilateral “Triangleon” of an internationally-recognized monitoring well cover.
My camera puts the cover at the GPS coordinates: 49.26382000, -123.13810167, which is about 28 metres south of its actual location (so handy that GPS function — pfft!). Click the images to enlarge them.
